350 years of history and endless historic charm

Come explore our charming old neighbourhoods rich in history. Architectural jewels, exhibits and restaurants bring to life the 18th and 19th century seigneuries of Old Terrebonne and Îles-des-Moulins, on the shores of the Mille Îles river.

With its five restored buildings, two permanent exhibitions, several guided tours and pontoon tours, Île-des-Moulins offers various activities during summer. New this year, visit  Frette ou tablette – 400 ans de bière au Québec, an expo highlighting 400 years of evolution in the beer industry in the province of Quebec.

Terrebonne’s historic society (SHRT) and Maison d’histoire open their doors on Une histoire de Terrebonne en photos, a photo expo on the history of Terrebonne. You can also assist to various historical conferences, guided tours, events and historical reenactements.

Arts and culture

Théâtre du Vieux-Terrebonne (TVT) is a well-known auditorium presenting a wide range of shows. For more than 30 years, TVT has been offering high quality artistic programs, showcasing renowned and trending artists through plays, comedy, music and other categories. TVT is also an important actor for summer theater, this year, TVT presents Pierre, Jean, Jacques, a French adaptation of Tom, Dick and Harry, written by Ray and Michael Cooney

Built in 1759, Maison Bélisle is one of Old Terrebonne’s oldest preserved house. Open year round, this historical building holds a permanent exhibit on the history of Terrebonne, as well as five other temporary expos during the year.

Sports and the great outdoors

Parc de la Rivière de Terrebonne offers a wide variety of outdoor activities for the entire family: canoe, kayak, rabaska, archery, disk golf and stand-up paddle. Rental services available on site.

Explore the area’s most beautiful natural and heritage attractions by bike on the Véloroute Terrebonne | Mascouche. More than 120 km of bike paths available including TransTerrebonne, a multipurpose path lying outside of the road network.

Discover hiking trails and bike paths in a beautiful setting at Parc du Grand-Coteau. You will also find a water play park, play structures, an ice cream parlor and picnic areas. For those who would like to bring their canine friends, you will find a dog park right across from Parc du Grand-Coteau at Parc de l’Arabesque.

Agrotourism and horticultural visits

Nested in Mascouche, Hacienda Alpaga is a farm where you can discover alpacas and other snall farm animals. You can also visit their boutique and shop various products made from the alpaca’s natural fibre. Tours by appointment.

If you have a passion for gardens and horticulture, be sure to visit Jardin Moore, an eco design garden with sustainable horticultural practices. A peaceful site that includes observation areas. Let yourself be charmed! The garden is open from Wednesday to Sunday during summer and offers guided tours.
