The “Fatbike” is a bike with oversized tires which is specially designed for riding on snow. Its easy to use and handle as a regular bicycle and even accessible to children (8 years and over). Come and try it on the TransTerrebonne trails or those of the Grand-Coteau park in Mascouche, you will love it!
No specialized clothing or accessories are required to practice this sport. It is simply suggested that you dress appropriately for the temperature. Choose layered clothing, bring a bottle of water and you’re ready for a day of fun in the great outdoors!
The Vélo St-Joseph store in Terrebonne is now renting Fatbike bikes. They have a nice fleet available to meet all your needs. Bikes are also available for hire for children (20 inch bike, therefore minimum 8 years old). Rent one for the day and practice this winter sport on the TransTerrebonne or Parc du Grand-Coteau snowshoe trails. Twice a week, Fatbike bikes are organized by the shop. On Wednesday evening, the departure is from the shop and on Sunday, we meet outside the region for the day, but always on the North Shore. Several parks and networks can thus be discovered. Outings are free for everyone! Stay tuned for the Vélo St-Joseph Facebook page for more information on upcoming activities.
